The Finalists for the 2020 Construction Achievements and Renovations of Excellence (CARE) Awards of Vancouver Island were announced today by the Victoria Residential Builders Association (VRBA). The media release is here.
“The CARE Awards showcase outstanding projects by Canada’s leaders in sustainable West Coast design and construction,” says Gordon English, Chair of the 2020 CARE Awards. “Finalists have overcome challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic and look forward to the first online CARE Awards event on November 28. I would like to acknowledge the leadership of Dr. Bonnie Henry, as well as the dedication of health care professionals, and all frontline workers including trades and suppliers. Without them, the CARE Awards and other community activities would not be possible. Thank you all!”
Gold winners will be announced at 8:00 pm on Saturday, November 28 by CFAX host Al Ferraby during the CARE Awards first virtual event on the websites of CFAX and CTV Vancouver Island.
Prior to the event, the public is asked to select the winner of the annual People’s Choice Award from among the Finalists displayed at Hillside Centre and online at careawards.ca from October 26 to November 8. All voting will take place online at careawards.ca.
Voters are entered to win a stay at Long Beach Lodge Resort, the 2002 CARE Awards Project of the Year.
Finalists are selected by a panel of industry professionals using criteria such as architectural design, quality workmanship, creative use of space, and energy efficiency. The categories are Residential Planning Design & Construction; Interior Design; Commercial Planning & Design; Customer Service; Sales & Marketing; Special Achievement; and Special Interest.
“The winning projects will be displayed in a full-colour magazine, printed and distributed by the Times Colonist, and viewed online at careawards.ca,” says Casey Edge, VRBA Executive Director.
